Private ToursHow to Build a Tour
3 hours · Full day · Multi-day experiences · From RMB 1,000+ per person
Private tours are designed for those who want to explore Beijing through food in a more personal and unhurried way. These experiences are fully bespoke—shaped around your interests, pace, and curiosity.
Over the years, I’ve worked with visiting chefs seeking inspiration, journalists and writers uncovering hidden corners of the city, and long-term residents wanting to understand their own home more deeply through food.
If you’re looking for a more personal way to experience Beijing’s food culture, a private tour offers complete flexibility in how the city is explored.
Build Your Tour
To begin designing your experience, please share a few details:
What interests you most about Beijing’s food culture?
Are there specific dishes, regions, or ingredients you’d like to explore?
How adventurous would you like the experience to be (traditional / mixed / off the beaten path)?
Do you have any dietary preferences or restrictions?
How long would you like the tour to be (3 hours / full day / multi-day)?
Is this your first time in Beijing, or are you returning with specific places already in mind?
What kind of pace do you prefer (relaxed / structured / intensive)?
Once I have this, I’ll design a route and experience tailored specifically for you.
Supper Club 2A Beijing Banquet
4 courses · 19 dishes · shared banquet-style · 3 hours · RMB 899
An evening exploring the tradition flavours of Beijing's hutongs. This is the food of festivals, family gatherings and Sunday lunches - not imperial cuisine, but the dishes that generations of Beijingers have shared around the family table.
The menu may evolve throughout the year to reflect the seasons but will always be rooted in Beijing cuisine.
Highlights may include:
Zhajiangmian
Kao Rou (Beijing-style roast lamb)
Qianlong Cabbage
Fried Sticky Meatballs
Dough Drop Soup
Beijing is one of the world’s great food cities and yet its everyday cooking remains largely hidden. This Supper Club is the chance to discover something new.
Supper Club 3A Chun Bing Lunch
2 hours · RMB 499
You might know ‘spring rolls’ (or chun bing) as a Chinese takeout favourite, deep-fried and served as a starter. But the inspiration came from Beijing’s steamed and paper-thin wheat pancakes, peeled one by one, stuffed at the table with whatever you like - braised meats, veggies, sharp pickles and stir-fries.
Put the chopsticks down and get stuck in with hands. This is casual, Beijing-style eating at its most fun.
Dishes may include:
Pot-cooked pork & soy-pickled radish
Stir-fried pork with scallions
Seasonal stir-fried vegetables
Shredded green beans with garlic
Egg with ‘grandma’s pickles’
Shredded tofu with sesame dressing
Served with unlimited chun bing pancakes and all the sides for wrapping, folding and sharing.
